Located on the north of Bali, 70km from Denpasar and around 10km from Singaraja town the Gitgit waterfall is a very popular tourist destination. Surrounded by deep lush rainforest the waterfall drops 35 metres down the side of the cliff into a pool of clear cool water. This area features abundant bird and animal wildlife including the ever present wild monkeys. The waterfall makes a nice change of pace from the Balinese beach scene and is a spectacular location for photographers.
A small fee is charged to access the waterfall which is situated at the end of a short walk through the jungle. Tour guides are available and there are several art stores and a restaurant along the walk.
