Located just outside of the town of Lake Louise the Lake Louise Ski Area is the ideal location for a skiing or snowboarding holiday.
The ski area is on the side of Merlin Ridge and there are more than 4,200 acres of magical mountain terrain with 139 marked ski trails. The trails cater to all levels of skill and are a combination of steep forest runs and wide open pistes. The longest run on the mountain is 8km (around 5 miles) to the bottom.
In total there are 9 ski lifts servicing the mountain including 5 chair lifts and a high speed gondola which means there is usually no waiting in a queue to hit the slopes. The average snowfall is 4.5m (15ft) per season so there is always plenty of powder.
Winter is not the only time to visit the Lake Louise Ski Area. In summer the lifts and gondola will take you to the top of the mountain where you’ll see spectacular views of the magnificent Rocky Mountains. There are also many hiking opportunities ranging from easy walks to challenging treks but whichever you choose you’re bound to be entranced by the beautiful alpine scenery.
