The massive land mass of Canada makes it a bit tricky to shortlist destinations down to a manageble size – always a good problem to have. However there is one thing that should be on everyones list – the incomparible Rocky Mountains. Some time spent here will be a memory that will stay with you for the rest of your life. Awe inspiring mountain peaks stretch along the border between Alberta and British Columbia‚ÄďAlberta. Canada’s Rocky Mountains are bursting with spectacular scenery and natural highlights.

The Rockies can be experienced by rail, car, or even by foot along easy to follow tracks and walking paths that meander through forests, national parks and meadows. In summer these paths are blanketed with wildflowers to complement the stunning alpine scenery. Some of the world most well know ski destinations are here also, but there are plenty of other options as well. Trek millenia old glaciers, horse ride among alpine splendour, give your lungs a work out mountain biking or rafting wild rapids or simply canoe tranquil lakes.

It’s not all just go go go here though, take some time to soak in the hot springs of Banff, or just watch the scenery slide by from the comfort of a train. By night you can kick back by the fireplace in a stunning lodge or chalet or get a dose of nightlife, or dine in any number of restaurants.

Wildlife in the Canadian Rockies is of the spectacular kind also, there are grizzly bears, elk, wolves as well as a stunning diversity of bird life.

Yep – the Canadian Rockies has much to offer, it’s the trip of a lifetime and the great thing is that you may just visit over and over again.
