La Pas is the capital of Mexican state of Baja and located on the south eastern tip of the Baja Peninsula. It is warm and sunny year around with temperature being moderated by coastal sea breezes. That being said it can get very hot in the summer months. Rainfall is not abundant with an average of 300 days of sunshine per year helping make La Pas a very comfortable year round destination for tourists. La Pas is moderate sized city with a population of 250,000 people.

Eco Tourism in La Pas is very popular mainly due to the city being situated next to a large marine reserve consisting of hundreds of islands and reefs which are home to a diverse range of marine life. La Pas is a natural place for travelers to base themselves for day trips exploring, snorkeling and diving in the Marine park with many tours available catering for a wide range of experience. La Pas is also famous for the many fishing charters that are on offer. Visitors can match their strength and skills with some enormous and spectacular fish that frequent the surrounding waters.

For days spent in the city La Pas features a long, attractive beach that enables tourists to easily spend the day lazing in the sun and water and is conveniently located near to the heart of the city. Larger even more stunning beaches lie just to the north of La Pas which are easy to get to thanks to the many buses and taxis. There is a good range of accommodation to suit all needs with numerous restaurants and bars to relax in and soak up the atmosphere.
